You have to admit, you have probably never heard a Bible study title like this before. Believe me, I take Bible study seriously and I think I have something that just might provide some insight on how Bible truths are transmitted in the Word of God. To start with, we Americans take our literacy for granted. But over thousands of years think of how Bible truth was remembered by those who could not read or write. Not to mention that before Gutenberg, owning a copy of the sacred Bible was quite uncommon.

So how was the Bible remembered without an iPhone app? When the Bible was spoken, the Lord often employed a variety of literary devices so that great life changing truths could be remembered and made understandable. One of them was the use of sport metaphors. Such as, "Run with endurance the race that is set before us" in Hebrews 12.1. Or, when boxing don't miss and swing at the air in I Corinthians 9.26. In that spirit this study is provided.
